# Locum Veterinary Surgeon West London

My charity practice client in West London is seeking a highly experienced locum veterinary surgeon for two days per week, starting as soon as possible and ongoing. There is also potential for the position to become permanent.

This is an exceptionally busy sole practice providing essential veterinary care to animals that may otherwise have very limited treatment options. The successful locum must be comfortable working independently and confidently managing a demanding surgical and clinical caseload.

## The role

• Two days per week
• Thursdays and Fridays preferred, although some flexibility is available
• 9am to 5:30pm
• One hour lunch break
• £400 per day
• ASAP and ongoing
• Potential permanent opportunity
• Very busy charity practice
• Day clinics
• Sole charge working

## Clinical requirements

The locum must be confident independently assessing and managing a wide variety of medical and surgical cases, including:

• Pyometra surgery
• Exploratory laparotomies
• Gastrointestinal foreign bodies
• Amputations
• General soft tissue surgery
• Radiography
• Ultrasound

Fracture repair is not required.

This practice is often the last available option for its patients, so the role would suit a resilient and capable veterinary surgeon who can make confident clinical decisions while maintaining a compassionate and pragmatic approach.
