Help Search Locate is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our independent client in Oxfordshire for an experienced Small Animal Night Veterinary Surgeon.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established 24-hour veterinary hospital that provides exceptional overnight care for its own clients. Working alongside an experienced Night RVN team, youll enjoy genuine clinical freedom while managing a varied caseload of emergency presentations and hospitalised inpatients in a supportive, collaborative environment.
With a highly sought-after 7 nights on, 14 nights off rota, this position offers an outstanding work-life balance, allowing plenty of time to relax, travel or pursue interests outside of work.
The Role
As the Night Veterinary Surgeon, you will be responsible for:
Providing overnight care for hospitalised small animal patients.
Managing emergency consultations and admissions with confidence.
Carrying out evening consultations, ward rounds and patient discharges.
Working closely with an experienced Night Nursing team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Completing detailed clinical notes and comprehensive handovers for the day team.
Ensuring patients and the hospital are fully prepared for the morning shift.
About You
We are looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who has:
RCVS registration.
A minimum of three years UK small animal experience.
Confidence working sole charge overnight.
Strong emergency and inpatient care skills.
Excellent communication and clinical decision-making abilities.
A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive wider team.
As the practice is based in a rural location, your own transport will be required.
