Registered Veterinary Nurse | North London | Salary Dependent on Experience
My independent client in North London is seeking a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its warm, friendly and supportive team on a permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy, family run small animal practice that has remained under the same family ownership for more than 50 years. The practice is committed to delivering high quality medical, surgical and nursing care while maintaining the personal and compassionate service expected from a genuinely independent practice.
You will join an experienced team of six Veterinary Surgeons, five Registered Veterinary Nurses, two Veterinary Care Assistants and an established reception, administration and management team.
The role
• Permanent Registered Veterinary Nurse position
• Four days per week
• Approximately 9.5 hours per working day
• Eight to nine Saturday shifts per year
• Saturday hours from 8:30am until 2:30pm
• Salary dependent on experience
• Busy independent small animal practice
• Varied medical, surgical and inpatient nursing responsibilities
• Supportive and experienced clinical team
• CPD actively encouraged with a generous allowance
Clinical responsibilities
The successful candidate will use their full range of nursing skills, including:
• Providing high quality inpatient care
• Monitoring anaesthesia and supporting surgical procedures
• Undertaking laboratory work and diagnostic testing
• Preparing and discharging patients
• Communicating clearly and compassionately with clients
• Supporting the reception team when required
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness and infection control
• Delegating appropriately and working effectively under instruction
• Contributing to the smooth day to day running of the practice

The practice offers a broad range of medical, surgical and preventative healthcare services, supported by modern equipment including:
• Digital radiography
• Dental radiography
• Ultrasound
• Endoscopy and bronchoscopy
• Therapeutic laser equipment
• In house laboratory facilities
• Fully equipped surgical theatre
• Nurse led clinics
About you
The successful candidate will:
• Be a qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse listed on the RCVS register
• Be confident undertaking general medical and surgical nursing duties
• Provide compassionate and attentive inpatient care
• Be comfortable monitoring anaesthesia
• Communicate warmly and professionally with clients
• Work effectively as part of a busy clinical team
• Be able to delegate appropriately and receive instruction
• Be organised, dependable and proactive
• Deliver consistently high standards of patient care
