Veterinary Nurse - Surrey - New Grads ideal

Surrey, UK

Veterinary Nurse – Surrey

Newly Qualified RVNs Encouraged to Apply | Independent, Family-Run Group | Day Shifts

Just qualified and looking for the right practice to start your career?

My client in Surrey is looking for a recently qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their team across two of their branch clinics. This could be a fantastic first step for a new RVN who wants to build confidence, develop their practical nursing skills and work within a genuinely supportive clinical environment.

Rather than being expected to know everything from day one, you'll be joining an experienced wider team where development is actively encouraged. The group has a strong track record of supporting nurses through training and career progression, with opportunities to gain exposure to both everyday first-opinion nursing and more advanced areas of veterinary medicine as your confidence develops.

The Role

You'll be working within two friendly Surrey branch practices, giving you the opportunity to build relationships with regular clients and their pets while developing a broad range of practical nursing skills.

Your day-to-day role will include:

• Inpatient nursing and patient monitoring
• Supporting vets with consultations and procedures
• Anaesthesia and surgical nursing
• Nurse clinics and preventative healthcare
• Preparing patients for procedures
• Laboratory and diagnostic work
• Client communication and education
• Maintaining excellent clinical and infection-control standards
• Working closely with the wider nursing and veterinary team

A Great Place to Develop

What makes this opportunity particularly attractive for a newly qualified nurse is the wider clinical network behind the branch practices.

My client operates several practices alongside a dedicated hospital, meaning more complex cases can be managed within the wider group rather than simply disappearing elsewhere. Their teams have exposure to areas including advanced diagnostics, imaging, surgery, emergency care and specialist-led cases.

They place a real emphasis on training and progression, so if you discover an area of nursing you particularly enjoy, there is scope to develop your knowledge and interests as your career progresses.

Who We're Looking For

This role would particularly suit a newly qualified or recently qualified RVN who is enthusiastic about developing their career.

You don't need years of experience. What matters more is that you're:

• RCVS registered or approaching registration
• Friendly and confident communicating with clients
• Keen to learn and develop your clinical skills
• Practical and willing to get involved
• Proactive and comfortable asking questions
• A genuine team player
• Passionate about providing excellent patient care

The Practice

This is a family-run veterinary group with an established presence in Surrey and a strong focus on continuity of care.

The branch clinics provide general first-opinion care including consultations, preventative healthcare, dentistry, diagnostics, anaesthesia and surgery, while having access to the group's wider hospital and advanced-care services when required.

For a newly qualified nurse, that offers a really useful balance: the familiarity and client relationships of branch practice, with the reassurance of a much larger clinical support network behind you.

If you've recently qualified and are looking for somewhere that will give you the opportunity to become a confident, well-rounded RVN rather than simply throwing you in at the deep end, I'd love to speak with you.
